Saturday, October 24: Wellness in the Sanctuary | Time TBD
Join us at Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary to relax and recharge with a variety of wellness activities. Attendees will have the chance to listen to a local harpist, go on a forest therapy walk, plant native plants, and make nature-inspired art. This event is free and family-friendly.

Saturday, November 13: Rain Barrel Workshop with Galveston Bay Foundation | 9 am -12 pm
Join us at Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary for an interactive workshop and learn all about water conservation, why it's important, and how you can do it at home. Barrels will be available for purchase at the workshop. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to rthorne@galvbay.org.
Alief
Alief, on the far southwest side of Houston, is the city's most diverse neighborhood. It is home to immigrants from dozens of different countries and more than 90 languages are spoken there.
Gulfton

Gulfton is an international community with about 58% of residents born outside of the United States, 75% of whom were born in Latin America. We partner with Greener Gulfton, Fit Houston, Harris County Precinct 4 and Madres del Parque, a dedicated group of mothers supporting and enhancing the community, to create nature-inspired activities at Burnett Bayland Park and surrounding areas.

Park Place
Park Place is a historic neighborhood located in the southeastern part of Houston. We are proud to partner with Houston Botanic Garden to offer a variety of events throughout the year.
Sunnyside
The Sunnyside neighborhood is southern Houston’s oldest African American community. Birds Houston partners with community gardens, local schools, and Nature Heritage Society, a non-profit environmental education & outdoor recreation organization, to provide the community with nature-based programming in green spaces.
Third Ward
Third Ward is a predominantly African American community with a rich history and cultural legacy. Birds Houston partners with Friends of Columbia Tap, a group dedicated to the well-being of the Columbia Tap Trail. This 4-mile hike-and-bike trail connects Downtown Houston to the Brays Bayou Greenway trail, following the historic Columbia Tap railroad route.
